What is vehicle wrapping?
Vehicle wrapping involves applying automotive vinyl film over the vehicle's painted panels. It allows customers to change the vehicle's colour or appearance without permanently repainting the original body.
Do you provide full-car and partial wrapping?
Yes. We provide both full-car and partial wrapping services, including:
- Full exterior colour change
- Roof wrapping
- Bonnet wrapping
- Mirror wrapping
- Spoiler wrapping
- Interior trim wrapping
- Racing stripes and graphic designs
- Selected accent-panel wrapping
Will wrapping damage my original paint?
When professionally installed and removed, quality automotive vinyl should not damage healthy original factory paint.
However, there may be a higher risk of paint lifting if the vehicle has:
- Repainted panels
- Weak or poorly prepared paint
- Cracked clear coat
- Rust or corrosion
- Existing stone chips
- Peeling paint
- Previous accident repairs
Our team may recommend a paint-condition inspection before wrapping.
Does wrapping protect the original body colour?
Yes. Wrapping provides an additional protective layer over the original paint and can help reduce exposure to:
- Sunlight and ultraviolet rays
- Light surface scratches
- Bird droppings
- Road contamination
- Water marks
- Minor environmental exposure
Wrapping is not impact-proof and cannot prevent damage from collisions, deep scratches, severe stone chips or sharp objects.
Can wrapping help preserve my vehicle's resale value?
A properly installed wrap can help preserve the original paint underneath, especially when the vehicle has healthy factory paint before installation.
The condition of the original paint, wrapping material, maintenance and removal process will affect the final result.
How long does a vehicle wrap last?
The lifespan of a wrap depends on:
- Vinyl series and manufacturer
- Vehicle usage
- Parking conditions
- Sun and weather exposure
- Washing method
- Maintenance frequency
- Installation quality
Vehicles parked indoors and properly maintained will generally retain their appearance longer than vehicles that are constantly exposed to strong sunlight and harsh conditions.
Do you provide a wrapping warranty?
Yes. We provide a two-year warranty for selected wrapping colour series, subject to the applicable product and warranty terms.
The warranty period for each colour or material will be confirmed before installation and recorded in the quotation or invoice.
What does the two-year wrapping warranty cover?
Coverage depends on the selected vinyl series. Where applicable, the warranty may cover verified material or installation defects under normal use.
The warranty does not normally cover:
- Accident or collision damage
- Scratches caused by external objects
- Stone chips
- Pressure-washer damage
- Chemical stains
- Improper washing
- Petrol or solvent damage
- Modification by another installer
- Damage caused by body-panel repairs
- Existing paint defects
- Normal wear and tear
All warranty claims are subject to vehicle inspection.
Does every wrapping colour include a two-year warranty?
No. The two-year warranty applies only to selected colour series. Warranty coverage may differ depending on the brand, finish, texture and product range selected.
Our team will confirm the warranty status before you choose the final colour.
Can every vehicle colour be wrapped?
Most colours and finishes can be achieved using automotive vinyl. Available options may include:
- Gloss
- Matte
- Satin
- Metallic
- Pearl
- Colour-shifting finishes
- Carbon-fibre textures
- Forged-carbon textures
- Special-effect finishes
Actual colour appearance may vary depending on lighting conditions and the shape of the vehicle.
Will the actual wrap colour look exactly like the colour shown on a phone screen?
Not always. Screen brightness, camera settings, editing and lighting conditions can affect how a colour appears.
We recommend viewing a physical colour sample before confirming the wrap.
Do you remove vehicle parts during wrapping?
Selected trims, handles, lights, badges or exterior components may be removed where necessary to improve finishing and edge coverage.
The dismantling method depends on the vehicle model and wrapping package selected.
Can a newly painted vehicle be wrapped?
Fresh paint should be allowed to cure completely before wrapping. The required curing period depends on the paint system and the recommendation of the paint workshop.
Wrapping fresh or insufficiently cured paint may increase the risk of paint damage during installation or removal.
Can the wrap be removed later?
Yes. Automotive vinyl can be removed by a professional installer. Proper tools, temperature control and removal techniques should be used to reduce the risk of adhesive residue or paint lifting.
How should I wash a wrapped vehicle?
We recommend:
- Hand washing with a soft wash mitt
- Using pH-neutral automotive shampoo
- Removing bird droppings and stains promptly
- Avoiding harsh chemicals and solvents
- Avoiding aggressive brushing
- Keeping high-pressure water away from edges and seams
- Drying the vehicle with a clean microfibre towel
Automatic car washes with hard brushes are not recommended.
Can I polish or wax a wrapped vehicle?
This depends on the vinyl finish. Some gloss films may accept selected wrap-safe products, while matte, satin and textured films require specialised care.
Do not use abrasive polish or products containing strong solvents without checking with our team.
Can ceramic coating be applied over a vehicle wrap?
Yes, selected ceramic coatings designed for vinyl may be applied over the wrap. The coating must be compatible with the finish, especially for matte, satin or textured materials.
What should I do if I notice lifting or bubbling?
Contact Duckit Motorsport as soon as possible and avoid pressing, cutting or applying additional adhesive yourself.
We will inspect the affected area and determine whether adjustment, repair or replacement is required.
What is Paint Protection Film?
Paint Protection Film, commonly known as PPF, is a transparent or matte protective film installed over the vehicle's painted surfaces.
PPF helps protect the original paint from stone chips, light scratches, road debris, insect stains, bird droppings and other everyday environmental exposure.
What PPF thickness does Duckit Motorsport use?
Duckit Motorsport uses 7.5 mil PPF, which is approximately 0.19 mm thick.
The 7.5 mil thickness provides a durable protective layer while maintaining a smooth and clean appearance on the vehicle.
What types of PPF do you provide?
We provide two main PPF finish options:
- Gloss Transparent PPF
- Matte PPF
The suitable option depends on the vehicle's original paint finish and the appearance the customer wants to achieve.
What is Gloss Transparent PPF?
Gloss Transparent PPF is designed to protect the vehicle while maintaining or enhancing the original glossy paint appearance.
It is suitable for customers who want paint protection without significantly changing the vehicle's original colour.
What is Matte PPF?
Matte PPF provides paint protection while changing the covered surface to a smooth matte or satin-style finish.
It can be applied over gloss paint to create a more distinctive appearance without permanently repainting the vehicle.
Why does Matte PPF cost more than Gloss Transparent PPF?
Matte PPF is generally more expensive because the material has a specialised surface finish and may require additional installation care to maintain a consistent matte appearance.
The final price also depends on the vehicle size, body shape, panel condition, installation complexity and coverage package selected.
Will Gloss Transparent PPF change my vehicle's original colour?
Gloss Transparent PPF is designed to remain clear and preserve the original body colour.
It may slightly enhance the gloss and depth of the paint, depending on the condition and colour of the vehicle.
Will Matte PPF change the appearance of my vehicle?
Yes. Matte PPF changes the covered surface from a glossy finish to a matte or satin-style appearance.
The original colour remains visible underneath, but the surface reflection and overall appearance will be different.
Does PPF protect against stone chips?
PPF helps reduce the risk of paint damage caused by small stones and road debris.
The level of protection depends on the speed, size and force of the impact. Strong impacts may still damage or penetrate the film.
Does PPF protect against scratches?
PPF helps protect against light surface scratches, swirl marks and minor contact.
Deep scratches, sharp objects or heavy impact may still damage the PPF or the paint underneath.
Can PPF be applied over carbon-fibre parts or bodykits?
PPF may be installed on selected carbon-fibre parts, painted bodykits and exterior components, subject to the surface condition, shape and material.
Certain textured, unpainted or highly curved surfaces may not be suitable for PPF installation.
Will PPF affect parking sensors, cameras or vehicle functions?
PPF installed on painted body panels normally does not affect parking sensors, cameras or other vehicle functions.
However, film should not be installed over areas that may interfere with sensor operation unless the product and vehicle system are confirmed to be compatible.
Are vehicle parts removed during PPF installation?
Selected badges, trims, lights, door handles or exterior components may be removed where necessary to achieve cleaner edges and better coverage.
The dismantling process depends on the vehicle model, selected coverage package and installation requirements.
What information should I provide for a PPF quotation?
Please provide:
- Vehicle brand and model
- Manufacturing year
- Preferred PPF type: Gloss Transparent or Matte
- Required coverage: partial, front-end or full body
- Current vehicle photos
- Condition of the paint: original paint or repainted panels
Our team will review the information and recommend a suitable PPF package.
